 New Graphics card upgrade
I am considering a new graphics card before 1.31 comes out. I currently have a ATI x1300 and would like to boost performance. I am only going to run a single monitor at 1440x900 and do not have an HD capable monitor. I am looking at spending <$100. Any suggestions for getting the most bang for my buck? I don't know alot about graphics card specs or what they all mean.

Need to know what size your power source is and what kind of motherboard you have, oh and what's your processor speed?

 Re: New Graphics card upgrade
I will get a new PS also because I am sure I will need it. I have Intel dual Core 3G processor. Not sure about motherboard, it is a Dell Dimension E520. I know Graphics card is PCI express but not sure if it is 2.0. How do I find out what will work? When I said <$100 I meant for the card, not including PS. And if it is a little more that is OK too.

First, I can't believe you have a laptop card in your desktop, I'm gonna go out on aLIMB HERE AND SAY THIS IS NOT PCI-e 2.0. I would call Dell and ask them what options you have for upgrade, I don't think you have many for that motherboard.

 Re: New Graphics card upgrade
According to Dell website this will work without getting a new power supply. It is $79.99 from Dell but I bet I can get it cheaper somewhere else. But if I get it from Dell and it doesn't work I know they will take it back. there are others listed that are compatable but I think this looks good.

Hmm, that's not bad. Cheapest I've seen it for is $50. Go for it unless you want to start upgrading everything else.

 Re: New Graphics card upgrade
I bought it and it works. Haven't really noticed a difference between this and my old x1300 but it should help when we go to 1.31.

 Re: New Graphics card upgrade
Biggest handicap in wwiiol is processor speed and hard drive read performance. A good video card helps though because it has to at least support the new shaders and stuff. Hope it works out for you.

 Re: New Graphics card upgrade
Yeah when 1.31 is out I think it will reinstall the game instead of Patch?
If it patch I prolly delete it and put new full 1.31 game.

 Re: New Graphics card upgrade
Yea a fresh install will mean longer before you get in game but it means less clutter on your HDD and possibly better perfprmance.
